Formula2000 is a comprehensive software package, developed for all Windows (32bit), providing a quality monitoring and control system for the weighing of Ingredients to achieve the correct and repeatable formulation of a Recipe Mix.

It provides the basis for an extensive production quality monitoring and reporting scheme utilising Industry Standard Weighing and Computer hardware. It can be expanded via PC terminal emulation communications to provide the link to MRP running on the main Factory computer.

Weighing Stations can be added at any stage along with additional hardware (ie Bar Code Scanners).

  • Operator prompted for Identification Code entry. EG Recipe Code Number, Operator ID, Mix Number, Works Order Number etc.
  • Details of Ingredients to be used displayed to Operator.
  • Operator Guidance display to correct weight.
  • Tolerance checking on each Ingredient to ensure correct weight within the allowed percentage tolerance is achieved before continuing with the next Ingredient in the Recipe.
  • Manual Tare for weighing into individual container.
  • Facility for storing Tare Weights - recalled by Code Number.
  • Auto taring for weighing into same container. (Thus reducing the number of Operator key functions).
  • Batch weighing and counting with auto prompt to Operator at the end of the required Batch Quantity.
  • Batch weighing can be either Vertical or Horizontal.
  • Ability to abort either during a Recipe or Batch.
  • Printing of container labels with Bar Codes.
  • User defined reports on completed weighings.
  • Non weighed items or Operator prompts (ie COSHH) displayed and confirmation that the Operator has performed the indicated function.
  • Where multiple platforms are used, the software can select the correct capacity and accuracy platform. This is user configurable by either Individual Ingredient in the Recipe or via Weight Band Selection.
  • Scale checking routines which will disable the system (if required) when the platform is out of calibration.
  • User definable names for common prompts such as 'Recipe', 'Ingredient' etc.
  • Multi lingual (set via configuration files).
  • Import of Schedule data or Formulations from MRP system.
  • Export of completed transactions to MRP system.
  • Masking of Ingredients/Recipes so only the relevant Ingredient/Recipe can be dispensed at the correct Weighing Area.
  • Control of hoppers for bulk Ingredient dispensing.
  • Communications with PLC for control of Factory Manufacturing Processes.
  • Batch Sheet generation to print sized Recipe details. This will also produce a weighing record printout in the event of the network failing thus enabling Operators to manually weigh Recipes and record the results. This data can be entered when the system comes back on line.
  • Connection to any make of electronic scale (with suitable communications interface).
  • Unlimited maximum number of scales.
  • Recipe Sign Off prior to release to Weighing Areas.
  • Batch Sizing.
  • Standalone Scale operation either before or during Dispensing.
  • Automatic Scale Switching.
  • Operator data entry by keyboard and/or Bar Code Scanner.
  • Concurrent Recipe weighing and Supervisor operation.
  • Recipe Batch and Individual Ingredient Lot Numbering (as required).
  • Full Ingredient traceability.
  • Ingredient Usage.
  • Standard Operating Procedures and Instructions recorded against each Recipe. Note these can be imported from a standard Word Processing package.
  • Ingredient correction routines (ie Potency, pH etc).
  • Full on line context specific help.

  • Ingredient and Recipe information can be generated via the Tri-Star Workstation module or imported from the MRP system.
  • Work can be either be scheduled to the Weighing Area(s) or the Recipes are selected as and when by the Operator(s).

SYSTEM OPTIONS Top Of Page

The system can be configured to meet individual requirements. Listed below are the options available:

Standalone:

Standalone system where the Operator Terminal performs the task of the Workstation PC as well as the Shop Floor terminal.

Remote Supervisor Workstation:

As for Standalone but with a remote Supervisor PC networked on line for:

  • Central update of the application data.
  • Weighing Transaction Logging.
  • Management reporting.
  • Gateway to factory Network and MRP system.

Multiple Weighing Areas:

Multiple weighing areas for central control by Supervisor. This is a networked system and all Weighing Areas are interactive with the Supervisor PC. A typical application would be where cross contamination of Ingredients needs to be controlled (these Ingredients can be directed for dispensing at the pre defined Area only) or Bulk Ingredients dispensed.

Multiple Weighing Areas with Additional Supervisory Workstations:

This configuration allows additional Supervisory Workstations (such as QC) to gain access to the management functions from other locations within the site.
